The importance of SEO and digital marketing for engineering equipment manufacturers
Every chemical engineering equipment manufacturer has a solid sales team that goes to the market, gets them orders, makes them the revenue, and keeps it like that.
Honestly, I have seen it for the past 30 years. Okay, realistically, the past 25 years- assuming I gained consciousness and understanding when I was 5 or 6.
And since then, I've been watching my father talk to so many clients that he has helped his employers acquire, across his years of service at three or four different companies.
Here's something I noticed
All of them have a great sales team.
I have personally met these people. All of them are market professionals, engineers, polished at sales, generating tens of lakhs in revenue every year for that employer.
But there is just one problem that none of these companies, or their marketing managers, or their sales teams, are solving today.
Making use of the internet. Being visible in the places where their potential prospects, in India and in other countries, are looking.
For example
A new pilot plant is being set up in Texas, United States.
They would be making a Google search about the best affordable ball and butterfly valves that they can source from India.
But since your website never cared about targeting these customers, this potential buyer- with thousands of dollars of budget, great relationships, and a million dollar network- will never be able to find you.
That does not mean they'll not find anybody.
Currently, one out of every 50 to 60 websites that I have recently audited in this industry has already started moving ahead and optimising for search engines and AI. Google, Microsoft Bing, ChatGPT, Gemini, and others you may have already heard about.
But they won't.
So what does this cost you in the long run?
Every once in a while, an opportunity strikes an industry, and the first movers benefit from it.
For example, 2008 and 2009 were the years Bitcoin was blooming, and people were even spending thousands of bitcoins to buy a pizza.
The same number of bitcoins in 2026 are valued at 800 crore rupees. Nearly $80 million.
Similarly, there was a wave of social media creators, where we saw them grow exponentially during the COVID period. And now, even though the opportunity is still there, the competition has just gotten a little fiercer.
And the same is true here, right now
Chemical and mechanical engineering equipment manufacturers investing in SEO and digital marketing in 2026, when the market is a complete blue ocean and there isn't much competition, will have the first mover advantage.
And the highest chances of quickly achieving and establishing great success.
In a way that capital buyers, in and out of India, are able to find them when they go out looking on Google for products like theirs.
That's all for today. Goodnight!
